HCCSCD Residential Treatment Programs
The HCCSCD has several residential programs that assist its clients who need treatment for substance abuse and, in some cases, mental health issues. The goal is to address these challenges so that clients are more likely to successfully complete their community supervision term and practice law-abiding behavior. This is accomplished through education as well as cognitive and behavioral approaches which have proven effective in reducing recidivism.
Substance Abuse Treatment Facility (SATF)
The SATF is a 144 bed facility for adult male offenders of any age who have been identified as having substance abuse issues. The program is six to twelve months in length and includes six months in non-residential aftercare to continue monitoring the client’s progress.
Young Men About Change (YMAC)
YMAC is a 144 bed facility for adult male offenders 17-25 years of age and juvenile offenders 15-16 years old that have been certified as an adult. The program is six to twelve months in length and includes six months in non-residential aftercare to continue monitoring the client’s progress.
Women Helping Ourselves (WHO)
The WHO program has two components. Both serve female offenders of any age who have substance abuse issues as well as needs in the areas of emotional stability, family conditions, education/employment, interpersonal relationships or cognitive deficiencies. One location has 130 beds for those who are not pregnant, and the other has 35 beds for those who are. A six month aftercare program is provided once the residential component has been completed.
Substance Abuse Treatment Facility-Peden (SATF-P)
SATF-P has three substance abuse treatment tracks, with a total of 270 beds: long term (180 days), short term (90 days) and mental health/substance abuse (180 days). The program serves males of any age who receive community supervision out of a court that follows a “progressive sanctions” model of intervention. This involves the use of sanctions and incentives to assist in shaping the client’s behavior. Upon program completion, the clients participate in a six month aftercare caseload to continue monitoring their progress.
